Rafiq Tağı Known for Criticism of Iran, Political Islam

VIENNA, 25 Nov. 2011 – An Azerbaijani journalist and writer known for his criticism of the governments in Baku and Tehran has died four days after a brutal stabbing attack.
Rafiq Tağı was stabbed seven times outside his Baku home on 19 November, according to various news sources. He was transported to a hospital and had been recovering from what had been an apparently successful surgery when hospital officials announced his death.

Four students from Tübingen University, Germany that are having internship at the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) visited the region and are presently continuing their internship in the region for more than a week according to the intern program.
According to UmudRahimoglu, Chairperson of IEPF, and the German students – Judith Berth, Damla Melek, Annalena Kampremann and Nadia Rebecca Lazer were informed about the activities of IEPF regional office; got adequate information with activities related to resolution of problems of mine victims, refugees and IDPs and people with poor circumstances.

J. Clancy will prepare a separate story about his visit to the regions
J. Clancy, Sr. Anchor/Correspondent, CNN and Reza, a renowned Photojournalist with the “National Geography” visited Garabagh region of Azerbaijan. They have been to Barda, Terter, Aghdam and Fuzili regions and met with refuges and internally displaced persons settled there. UmudRahimoglu, Chairperson of the International Eurasia Press Fund-host organization gave information about their visit to the above mentioned regions. According to him initially the guests visited Barda city. Vidadi Isayev, Head of Local Executive Power met with them, gave comprehensive information on the history of this ancient city. The guests had night sightseeing around the city and enjoyed the beauty of the city.

Jim Clancy promised to prepare a story about the International Eurasia Press Fund in future
Today Jim Clancy, CNN Sr. Anchor/Correspondent visited International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF). He was met by Umud Rahimoglu, Chairperson of IEPF and heads of departments. Mr. Lutful Kabir, the IEPF International Adviser also participated in the meeting. U. Rahimoglu gave comprehensive information on the necessity of establishing the IEPF; about its activities and projects implemented. Furthermore U. Rahimoglu touched the issue of Daghlig Karabagh (Mountainous Kababagh) and Armenian aggression that resulted in the occupation of Azerbaijan territories.
